Supporting Biodiversity and Sustainability
The project aims to bring us closer to nature, preserving ancient shamanistic wisdom and traditions of the Amazon, healing and creativity to strengthen our bonds with the source of life.
1. Raising awareness of environmental issues
We're working in collaboration with Whale of a Time to help raise awareness for the importance to preserve the rainforest and its precious pristine primal life-source of millions of animal and plant species and indigenous tribes whose life and home depends on the rainforest.
For educational purpose we're in the process of making a documentary in conjunction with the TreeSource Foundation and Whale of a Time.
About the documentary
Whale of a Time is raising awareness of environmental issues with communities and we're making a documentary about the experience of living in the jungle, raising awareness of indigenous tribes and their culture, with focus on shamanism, including traditional healing practices (dietas), and the diverse animal and plant species of the forest. On the other side the documentary also gives us an update on the environmental impact of short gain profit making from the biodiverse and ancient ecosystem of the rainforest. The documentary will be used during the Whale of a Time Workshops for educational purpose and also gives an idea how you can get involved with the TreeSource Foundation.
2. To Bee Or Not To Bee
We're working a a project called "To Bee Or Not To Bee" which aims to support people of the Amazon to live from bee-keeping as an alternative to live in harmony with the rainforest and preserve its biodiversity and home to half of the world's species.
3. All donations go to Viva La Selva to support "To Bee Or Not To Bee"
We're also working in collaboration with the TreeSource Foundation to set up a bee-keeping project within their land and community project. The TreeSource Foundation focuses on buying step by step an ever growing part of the Amazonian rainforest primarily for nature preservation. Donations are being used for the replanting of trees, to stop deforestation by buying the land, to pay people who look after the land and work on it.
