1. Environmental Education

Whale of a Time Workshop

We're working in conjunction with Whale of a Time. Whale of a Time is a grass-root organisation raising awareness of environmental issues with the Whale of a Time Workshop.

Whale of a Time Workshops is a creative workshop for everyone!

The Whale of a Time Workshop is a fun interactive event where young and old are able to model pumas, trees and other endangered species of the rainforest out of clay, and at the same time learn about the environment, biodiversity and sustainability and have a whale of a time.

The Whale of a Time Workshop is an attraction that can be hired for shows, at exhibitions and festivals, and by schools and youth clubs. It has been run successfully at the Boat Show, Streatham Festival and the Big Green Gathering and many other events under the name “Whale of a Time”. It is an attraction that you can include in your event and also use to enhance your “green credentials”.

During a typical workshop participants engage with environmental issues of different places around the world to learn consciously about ecosystems, biodiversity, endangered species and sustainability. We would go on to look at the effects on our planet, our health and how we can contribute to solving these problems.

The Whale of a Time Workshop is popular among young and old and has proven to be a great way to entertain people of all age groups, particularily young people with an interactive, creative and educational activity.

All donations for the workshop go to Whale of a Time to cover running costs of the Whale of a Time Workshop at schools, youth clubs, festivals and kindergardens and to provide future workshops within the community.

2. Nature Preservation

The Viva La Selva provides a scheme to preserve the rainforest and reduce your carbon footprint by buying land which is used to set up small scale bee-keeping projects with local people.

Like other large forests, the Amazon holds carbon that -- if trees are logged or burned -- would be released into the atmosphere, contributing to global warming. The bee-keeping projects provide an alternative sustainable source of income for the local people.

All donations go directly to Viva La Selva to support bee-keeping in the Amazon - "To Bee Or Not To Bee" an initiative to help protect the rainforest. You can be part of it by sponsoring a bee or a bee hive, or by volunteering.

3. Bee-keeping in the Amazon!

Viva La Selva is working to protect the rainforest for future generations.
You can now go on a journey to experience the full effect of the vast biodiversity of species in the rainforest while participating in a bee-keeping project "To Bee or Not To Bee" in the Amazon.

4. Eco-Heros

As an Eco-Hero you have the opportunity to contribute to the protection of the rainforest and help stop the deforestation of the last remaining primal forest while supporting the fight of global warming.

Eco-Heros have the opportunity to volunteer with Viva La Selva and support bee-keeping in the Amazon or go on an eco-retreat with the TreeSource Foundation and learn indiginous ways of living in the jungle.
